Doing good!

I have been doing a good job this week. Although, I did not do well with my no pop goal, I did do well with the fast food. I also have been working out! I forgot how much I enjoy that and how much better I feel when I am done. It is so much nicer and convenient to be able to go and do it in my basement versus getting in the car and driving to the club. My girlfriends and I are going to do an elliptical club which will help us all stay motivated. It is so nice to have such good friends and encouragement. Thank you!

The journey begins...

Before I had Nate, I told myself that I would have 9 months to lose the weight. You know, 9 months to put it on and 9 months to take it off. Well, I had Nate at 35 weeks and had already gained 65 pounds. (That is an estimate because once I had gained 12 pounds in the first month, I asked the nurse not to tell me how much I weighed. I think this was a mistake because I had no reference for what I was gaining, I just figured the doctor would tell me if I had gained too much. So, the 65 pounds may not be accurate but I am pretty sure that it is close.) Back to the 9 months to gain and 9 months to lose. First of all, I only had 7 months and 3 weeks to gain all the weight, so I really should have only that long to lose it. That is where the problem comes in, Nate is 7 months and 1 week old! I still have 25 pounds to lose!!!!

I started doing the Parent Magazine Lose the Baby Weight diet. It was going really well and I lost 9.5 pounds but then Christmas came and I went off the diet. I will weigh myself tomorrow (I always weigh on Mondays) and see how much I have gained back. I am PRETTY sure that it will be most of the weight I lost. I have really been enjoying myself this week.

I have plenty of excuses as to why I haven't lost the weight...I don't want to join a gym because I don't want Nate to go to daycare, I am home alone a few nights a week and what is the point cooking for one, I have to go out for lunch with the girls I work with, I don't need to worry about eating good on the weekends. The excuses go on and on!!!

So, today I decided that I am going to start blogging about my journey. I am going to have two goals per week. Goals that are not about the pounds I want to lose, but good choices I am going to make. I am also making a goal of writing in this blog at least 2 times per week, if not more.

This weeks goals:
1.  No fast food.
2.  No pop.

Wish me luck!
